Taj Mahotsav is celebrated in the month of February at Agra continuously for ten days. A procession is taken out on the road in the same Mughal era style, exhibits essence and value of the world heritage site the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahotsav is amongst the biggest festivals of Asia and it is our endeavor to take it to world’s top list. The festival starts with a procession including bejeweled elephants and camels, drum beaters, folk artists and master craftsmen. Taj Mahotsav also showcases the work of legendary artisans and master craftsmen breathe life into their exquisite art. A festival of Taj Mahotsav attracts tourists and audiences from far and wide along with the limelight of media. The venue of the festival of Taj Mahostav is Shilpgram, which is stone's throw away from Taj Mahal. Marble inlay apart, the Festival brings forth an array of other fine crafts as well- wood carvings from Saharanpur, brass and other metal ware from Moradabad, handmade carpets of Badohi, the blue pottery of Khurja, the Chikan work of Lucknow. Agra with its legendary tradition of exquisite craftsmanship is thus the ideal venue for holding a crafts fair like the Taj Mahotsav.

Not only this, there is more to do at Taj Mahotsav 2009, Agra. You can take a ride on elephants or camel or take part in games and a food festival. The folk artists from the different states of India perform here entertaining the tourists all the way. There never seems to be a stop to entertainment here. It is found that the festival begins with a parade influenced by the Mughal grandeur. The adorned elephants and camels and not to mention the drum beaters along with the folk artists recreate the magic of those imperial times.
